Offlineskins Mod allows you to show off your skins even if the server is in offline mode In Minecraft, a default skin is randomly assigned to your character depending on your account ID. If you want to change this, you only do it in online mode, because Minecraft has a dedicated skins server that loads the custom skins of all online players.

But when the server is down, your characters will wear the default skin. It means that with the players using copyright Minecraft with skin, they even cannot see their own skin although they paid for that when they play in the offline server. If you do not like this, you can find support from the Offlineskins Mod.

Using this mod will allow you to use your custom skin and show it in private server (the server does not check ID and password for the players, and can play online without any fee). In case of your normal skin doesn’t load, you can add your/others skin in the generated folder (.minecraft/cachedImages/skins), named after your username and ends with .png. This way the mod will use the provided file to load a skin for your/others character. This mod is Client-Only, you do not need to install on the server.

How to install:

  • Download Minecraft Forge
  • Right click, Run as Administrator and press OK to install Forge. (You can skip this step if you’ve installed Minecraft Forge)
  • Open Start on desktop => Open Run (Or you can use the Windows +R keyboard shortcut)
  • Type %appdata% into Run and press enter
  • Go to folder /.minecraft/mods
  • Put the jar file of mod into mods folder and then run Minecraft. Done!
